Step 1 of 2

Why it gets specified

Built for the duty it is put to.

PTFE liner, silicone-coated glass fabric wall

The inner layer is PTFE foil, so aggressive solvents and corrosive fumes meet one of the most chemically inert surfaces available. The anti-adhesive lining also keeps the bore clear where residue would otherwise build up.

Static dissipation for ATEX areas

The conductive PTFE liner holds a surface resistance below 10⁶ ohm and, with double-ended grounding, meets TRBS 2153 for Zone 0/20 — flammable dusts and gases of low conductivity. SOURCE: datasheet.

Tight bending radii, high flexibility

The bend radius equals roughly 0.6 × the bore, so a 100 mm hose turns in 60 mm. It compresses to about 1:4 for storage and handling, and stays flexible across its full temperature range.

Galvanised helix that takes the abuse

The external hot-dip galvanised steel clip-profile spiral protects the wall from abrasion and scuffing during installation, and clamps the wall to the spiral so the joint resists pulling.

Where it is used

Typical applications.

  • Extraction of aggressive media, explosive gases and fumes
  • Danger zones requiring electrically conductive hose
  • Chemical and pharmaceutical processing
  • Solvent extraction
  • Paint, wood and paper industry
  • Low pressure and suction duty

Documentation

Everything you need to specify it.

Need a certificate of conformity or a material declaration? Ask when you enquire — they are available on request.

How ordering works

From enquiry to delivery.

Four steps, and a person you can name at every one of them.

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Tell us what you need

Sizes, quantity and what the product is for. A drawing, a sample or a photograph of the part you are replacing all help — send whatever you have.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    We specify it

An expert checks it against your application rather than just pricing the line. If something else suits it better, we will say so. You get a reply within 3 hours during opening hours.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    You approve the quote

Price, carriage and delivery timing confirmed in writing before anything is made or cut. Certificates of conformity are available on request.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Made and delivered

Made to your specification by the same people who quoted it, and delivered to the address you gave us. One point of contact throughout.

Buying from Crystal Rubber

Made up to your length, by people who work with this hose daily.

This is a made-to-order hose: tell us the bore, the length and the end fittings and we will quote it built. If you are not certain which grade suits the media you are extracting, say what is going through it and our specialists will specify it for you.

  • Standard production in 3 m and 6 m lengths, available within 48 hours on request. SOURCE: datasheet.
  • Other lengths, sizes, colours and spiral intervals available to order
  • Stainless steel outer helix on request

Questions

What people ask before they order.

Is this hose suitable for an ATEX-classified area?

Its PTFE liner is electrically conductive, with a surface resistance below 10⁶ ohm, and the datasheet states it adheres to TRBS 2153 for Zone 0/20 with double-ended grounding. Grounding at both ends is what makes the static path work, so it must be installed that way. Tell us the zone classification and the media, and we will confirm suitability in writing before you order.

What length can I have it in?

Standard production is 3 m and 6 m, available within 48 hours on request. Other lengths are made to order — tell us what you need and we will quote it.

How tight will it bend?

The bend radius is roughly 0.6 × the bore: 30 mm at 50 mm bore, 60 mm at 100 mm, 300 mm at 500 mm. The full figure for every size is in the table above, and it refers to the inside of the hose.

Can I get it with a stainless steel helix?

Yes. The outer helix is available in stainless steel on request, which is the usual choice where the outside of the hose is also exposed to corrosive conditions or wash-down.

Do you supply it with end fittings?

Yes — assemblies are made up in house to your lengths and end fittings. Include the fittings you need in your enquiry and the quote will cover the hose built and ready to install.

Which document confirms the chemical resistance?

The chemical compatibility chart is available to download above, alongside the technical data sheet. If the medium you are extracting is not listed, send us the name or the SDS and we will check it for you.
